Hi-desertdog proudly offers the SCAR 17S. It is one of the best semi auto civilian guns. The gun comes with a full size rifle cartridge has a lot of muzzle energy and consequently a ton of recoil compared to others. The rifle is designed around a short stroke recoil system where the expanding gases are contained within the telescoping piston which briefly acts on the bolt carrier. The short recoil system allows for a cleaner operation as compared to others. It has a rather heavy bolt carrier assembly; it also has a mass sliding that means the force of the recoil is spread over a longer time making it remarkably lighter and allowing a more accurate shot.
Like most of the guns from the SCAR platform the controls of SCAR 17S are also ambidextrous. The safety and magazine release can be operated from either side. It offers an amazing press checks, making them simple and quick and this is all because of the forward charging handle. Even in a standing position one can keep the gun stable in use and the recoil is close to nonexistent. It has side and bottom rails as well as a full length top rail that can be disassembled and reassembled easily. Hence, a worthy rifle to buy.
